Building Western Colorado Since 1957
PNCI Construction, Inc. has been part of the Western Colorado construction community for nearly 70 years. Originally founded by Ray Phipps in 1957 as Phipps Construction, the company later became Phipps Newell Construction, Inc., establishing a longstanding reputation for quality construction throughout the region.
In 2002, Frank DeSantis joined Phipps Newell Construction as a Project Manager. Two years later, in October 2004, Frank and his wife, Susan, purchased the company from John Newell, beginning its next chapter as PNCI Construction, Inc.
Today, PNCI remains family-owned and locally operated, led by Frank DeSantis, President and Board Chair, and Susan DeSantis, CFO and Board Vice Chair, alongside their son, Bobby DeSantis, Project Manager and Executive Project Support; their daughter, Angela DeSantis Acree, Treasurer; and Tyler Schreiner, Director of Construction. Together, this leadership team continues PNCI’s longstanding commitment to quality construction, strong relationships, and the communities of Western Colorado.
A Legacy You Can See
For generations, PNCI and its predecessor firms have helped build and improve the communities we call home. Our work includes recognizable Grand Valley landmarks such as Enstrom Candies Headquarters, the Enstrom Candies Warehouse Facility, and their Hybrid Confections Expansion. The Eddy Apartments, Coffee Traders, and the SCL Health Intermountain Building. Along with numerous projects for Colorado Mesa University, St. Mary’s Hospital, and for Mesa County Valley School District 51. PNCI also did the Bozarth Miller Dealership Project along with the Wells Fargo Building on North Avenue, and numerous projects for Garfield County School District, and other public and private clients throughout Western Colorado.
Local Roots. Lasting Relationships
PNCI’s longevity is built on more than the projects we construct. Our longstanding relationships with local owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and community partners are at the heart of how we do business. As a multi-generational family business, we take personal pride in the work we perform and the reputation we carry from one project to the next.
Nearly seven decades after its founding, PNCI continues to build on the same foundation: family, relationships, quality construction, and a lasting commitment to Western Colorado.
