This new fire station in Fruita, CO was constructed to house six apparatus bays on the lower level, ancillary facilities, restrooms and hydraulic elevator all of which are protected by a fire sprinkler and alarm system. Above, on the second story, the firemen dorm living/sleeping quarters are located. The full kitchen includes dining facilities with a spacious day room and restrooms/showers to accommodate the crew.
The exterior finish of the new building consists of concrete block, stucco, and brick veneer with a standing seam metal roof. Roll up overhead doors accommodate the passage for the fire trucks and equipment. The site is complete with an asphalt parking lot, concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutter.
